A freelance senior software engineer for Edinburgh product teams
SaaS and fintech platforms, headless CMS builds, security audits and AI features for Edinburgh product teams, on UK time and Scotland's calendar.

Why Edinburgh teams bring me this work
This page is for Edinburgh product teams building SaaS, fintech and data products: platforms where a security review is part of every enterprise sale, content that has to publish quickly, and AI features that have to be explained to a risk committee before they ship. I usually start with a fixed-price security audit or an architecture review, and build from what it finds.
What teams across the United Kingdom bring me
- You need to show that personal data is handled properly under UK GDPR, with the right terms for every processor.
- Your platform has grown faster than its architecture, and every release now carries risk.

The hours we share with Edinburgh
Edinburgh keeps UK time: your 09:00 is 14:30 in Mumbai in winter and 13:30 in summer, so your morning is my afternoon. Scotland's calendar is its own, though: its bank holidays differ from England's, which matters when we agree release dates.
Each city's 09:00–18:00 working day on the clock in Mumbai (UTC+5:30), in January and in July, so daylight saving is accounted for.
| City | In January | In July |
|---|---|---|
| EdinburghUTC+0 / UTC+1 | 14:30–23:30 | 13:30–22:30 |
Clocks British Summer Time (UTC+1): the clocks go forward one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March and back one hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October; GMT (UTC+0) the rest of the year. GOV.UK: When do the clocks change?
Scottish bank holidays
Scotland's bank holidays differ from England's. They include 2 January and St Andrew's Day (30 November), with the summer bank holiday on the first Monday of August (2 August in 2027) and no Easter Monday.

Rules a Edinburgh team's software meets
Scots law
Scotland has its own legal system, with separate courts, preserved by Article 19 of the 1707 Treaty of Union. Scots law and the law of England and Wales remain separate and distinct. UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 still apply across the UK.

The regulator's Edinburgh office
The Information Commissioner's Office, which regulates data protection across the UK, has a regional office in Edinburgh, as well as offices in Belfast and Cardiff and its Manchester head office.

Questions from Edinburgh teams
What hours do we share with Edinburgh?
Your 09:00 is 14:30 in Mumbai in winter and 13:30 during British Summer Time. The dates that differ are the holidays: Scotland keeps 2 January and St Andrew's Day, has its summer bank holiday at the start of August and no Easter Monday; release dates are agreed against Scotland's calendar, not England's.
Does Scots law change how you handle our data?
Not the data-protection rules: UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply across the UK, and the ICO, which regulates them, has a regional office in Edinburgh. Scotland does have its own legal system and courts, so which law governs our contract is a question for your counsel.
Do you have an office in Edinburgh?
No. I work remotely from Mumbai, with no office or address in Edinburgh, and I don't offer in-person meetings there. Audits and builds run on video calls in your morning and in writing.
