The hours we share with Miami
Miami keeps Eastern time: your 09:00 is 19:30 in Mumbai in winter and 18:30 in summer. That puts your morning in my evening, which suits agency work: feedback in your morning call, fixes overnight, and a staging link with a written note before your next stand-up.
Each city's 09:00–18:00 working day on the clock in Mumbai (UTC+5:30), in January and in July, so daylight saving is accounted for.

Clocks Daylight saving time runs from 2:00 a.m. local time on the second Sunday in March to 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November (15 U.S.C. 260a). India keeps one clock all year, so only your side moves.

Rules a Miami team's software meets
Florida's Digital Bill of Rights, and its narrow scope
Florida's Digital Bill of Rights (CS/CS/SB 262, chapter 2023-201) took effect on 1 July 2024. Its controller duties apply only to businesses with more than $1 billion in global gross annual revenue that also earn half or more of their revenue from online ads, operate a smart speaker and voice-command service, or run an app store with at least 250,000 apps.

Enforcement
Only the Florida Department of Legal Affairs enforces the Digital Bill of Rights, with civil penalties of up to $50,000 per violation. It may grant a forty-five-day cure period.

Breach notification
Under the Florida Information Protection Act (§ 501.171), affected individuals must be notified no later than thirty days after a breach is determined, and the Department of Legal Affairs within thirty days when 500 or more Floridians are affected.

The same as New York: your 09:00 is 19:30 in Mumbai from early November to mid-March and 18:30 the rest of the year. Your morning call is my evening, and the work that follows it is waiting on staging when your next day starts.
Does Florida's Digital Bill of Rights apply to us?
Only if you're very large: its controller duties apply to businesses with more than $1 billion in global gross annual revenue that also meet one of its other tests, such as earning half or more of revenue from online ads. For most startups and agencies the Florida rule that matters is the breach law: affected individuals must be told no later than thirty days after a breach is determined. Confirm what applies with your counsel.
Do you have an office in Miami?
No. I work remotely from Mumbai, with no office or staff in Miami, and I don't offer in-person meetings there, for you or for your agency's clients.
