A freelance senior software engineer for Dublin SaaS and tech teams
SaaS platforms, GDPR-minded builds, security audits, APIs and AI features for Dublin's SaaS and tech teams, with your morning in my afternoon.
01
Why Dublin teams bring me this work
Ireland is where many large technology firms have their main EU establishment, which makes the Data Protection Commission the lead supervisor for much of the industry. For a Dublin SaaS team selling to those firms, or to anyone who watches them, privacy and security questions tend to arrive early. I build with that in mind: data maps, retention that's enforced in code, audit logs, and a security audit before a customer's questionnaire asks for one.
What teams across the European Union bring me
- Your stack has to pass a GDPR review: data maps, processor terms, transfers and retention.
- You need senior capacity for a few months without adding headcount.

The hours we share with Dublin
Dublin is on Irish time, an hour behind Berlin: your 09:00 is 14:30 in Mumbai in winter and 13:30 in summer, the same as London. Your morning falls in my afternoon, and a written update closes each of your days.
Each city's 09:00–18:00 working day on the clock in Mumbai (UTC+5:30), in January and in July, so daylight saving is accounted for.
| City | In January | In July |
|---|---|---|
| DublinUTC+0 / UTC+1 | 14:30–23:30 | 13:30–22:30 |
Clocks Irish Standard Time (UTC+1) in summer and Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) as 'winter time' (Standard Time (Amendment) Act 1971), switching on the EU dates: the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October, at 01:00 UTC.

Rules a Dublin team's software meets
The lead authority for big tech
Ireland's Data Protection Commission acts as the EU lead supervisory authority for controllers with their main establishment in Ireland, which include many large technology firms. Since the GDPR began it has received 2,189 cross-border complaints and was the lead authority for 1,927 of them, 88 per cent.

The DPC in 2025

Accessibility law
Ireland transposed the European Accessibility Act through the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023), in operation since 28 June 2025. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission checks e-commerce services.

Questions from Dublin teams
What hours do we share with Dublin?
Your 09:00 is 14:30 in Mumbai in winter and 13:30 in summer, an hour later than Berlin's and the same as London's. Ireland changes its clocks on the EU dates, at the end of March and October; India doesn't change at all.
What age of consent applies to an Irish app?
Sixteen: the Data Protection Act 2018 sets the digital age of consent for information-society services at 16, older than in France (15), Spain (14) or Sweden and Denmark (13). If teenagers use your product, sign-up needs an age step, and below that age a record of parental consent. Confirm what applies with your counsel.
Do you have an office in Dublin?
No. I work remotely from Mumbai, with no office or staff in Ireland, and I don't offer in-person meetings in Dublin. Your personal data stays in your EU systems, and our data processing agreement covers my access.
